INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
SIRIUS WILDERNESS MEDICINE is a well recognized organization whose
instructors have advanced first aid/medical training and extensive experience teaching and
leading groups in the outdoor environment. Instructors have a myriad of specialized
outdoor skills that help them to identify the needs of their clients thus providing more
meaningful, relevant and realistic courses.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified instructor Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or related organization.
Completed Sirius Wilderness First Responder course prior to instructor program.
Participation in SIRIUS instructor symposium.
Supervised (team) teaching in all programs prior to conducting a course.
Annual re-certification through participation in Sirius instructor symposium.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive outdoor and wilderness travel experience.
- Requisite teaching experience.
- Awareness and understanding of outdoor industry safety standards and management
practices.
