INSTRUCTOR PROFILE

 

SIRIUS WILDERNESS MEDICINE is a well recognized organization whose instructors have advanced first aid/medical training and extensive experience teaching and leading groups in the outdoor environment. Instructors have a myriad of specialized outdoor skills that help them to identify the needs of their clients thus providing more meaningful, relevant and realistic courses.

 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified instructor Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or related organization.
  • Completed Sirius Wilderness First Responder course prior to instructor program.
  • Participation in SIRIUS instructor symposium.
  • Supervised (team) teaching in all programs prior to conducting a course.
  • Annual re-certification through participation in Sirius instructor symposium.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive outdoor and wilderness travel experience.
  • Requisite teaching experience.
  • Awareness and understanding of outdoor industry safety standards and management practices.
