Carl supervises the implementation of SIRIUSMEDx’s medical practices in remote clinical environments. He recruits, trains and supervises our pool of nurses, paramedics and other medical support personnel and he advises our clients on occupational health and safety requirements and medical service needs.
Carl has a bachelor degree in nursing sciences from the University of Montreal. He has more than 20 years of clinical nursing experience, including in emergency medicine, critical care and remote community medicine. He also has extensive experience in nursing management.Before joining SIRIUSMEDx, Carl was a nursing consultant in the Jewish General Hospital’s Emergency Department and more recently at the CSSS des Sommets in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts where he supported nurses throughout the Laurentian hospital sector. Among other positions held over the years, he was also head nurse at the Tullatakik Health Center in Ungava Bay, Northern Quebec as well as manager of the CSSS des Sommets pharmacy.
Yannick supervises the operations and logistics for all SIRIUSMEDx Medical Support Services across Canada and in the North. He provides training and support for our medical field staff and contributes to our curriculum development and special projects.
He has a diploma in business administration and extensive experience as a remote site medic and risk management consultant. He is a senior Sirius instructor and teaches the full range of our remote worksite safety programs, from wilderness first aid to search and rescue and wilderness readiness.
Marie Annick has just landed from the high performance amateur sport field. As head of Ski Acro Québec (Freestyle Quebec) for eight years, she has lead several development projects, worked to secure corporate and government funding, implanted various protocols and politics within the organization while making sure Quebec athletes were shining at the international level. Her sports background has gifted her with insatiable quest for excellence which should represent a great asset to her tasks at SIRIUSMEDx. Holder of a BA degree, this ex-ED brings her global vision of an organization to the Director of business development and training position.
Nancy is responsible for SIRIUSMEDx office administration, accounts and customer relations and liaises with clients, instructors and suppliers. She also provides support to SIRIUSMEDx’s recruiting initiatives and human resource management. Nancy has more than twenty years’ experience in business administration, accounting, media relations and customer relations.
Philippe-Olivier assumes the administrative and operational management of SIRIUSMEDx. He is mostly reponsible of Procurement, Human Resources, Technologies, Equipment and strategic planning. He also help both departments with their daily tasks. He has university diploma in health management and he is still studying for his bachelor degree in business administration. He studied prehospital emergency care in Collège Ahuntsic and worked as an emergency medical dispatcher and team leader for many years and managed few teams and projects especially in first aid and medical groups. In addition to his exceptional organizational skills and its great involvement, P-O is also passionate about the outdoors, bikes and wildlife.
Bob Washer founded Sirius Wilderness Medicine in 1990. He has more than 30 years experience in the design and implementation of risk management and health and safety programs. He has published numerous articles on topics related to wilderness emergency care, risk management and health and safety for remote environments and regularly delivers lectures and seminars at major conferences across Canada.
Bob graduated from the University of Calgary Outdoor Pursuit Program in 1985 and worked in outdoor education for many years, including as Instructor and Director of the Outdoor Education Program at John Abbott College and Founder and Director of the Norwood Outdoor Education and Conference Centre. Bob has extensive international travel and programming experience and led groups to more than 65 countries around the world as the former Director of the widely acclaimed sail training program Class Afloat.
Bob is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society and the National Association of Search and Rescue, and has served on the board of directors of Aventure Écotourisme Québec.
